Richard Mountford, head of global intermediary business at Schroders, revealed at a conference in London that a quarter of the institution's clients believe appetite for equities is growing robustly.
More than 60% of Schroders' clients surveyed, meanwhile, expect interest in equities to pick up markedly over the next six to 12 months.
Mountford speaking at Schroders 2010 International Media Conference added that while equity sales have still not fully recovered the outlook "is pretty good".
Mountford added that top-selling funds at Schroders intermediary business are all bond related, showing that investors are focused on high risk and high yield investments.
With regard to the economy, Schroders clients are mostly "pretty optimistic" said Mountford. Less than one in seven expect there to be a double dip recession.
"Risk is being put back on the table and quite aggressively too," he added.
