UK inflation edging ever closer to 4%

4th November 2010

The UK is another step closer to seeing inflation surge to 4% in the new year, according to one leading economist.

Simon Ward, chief economist at Henderson Global Investors says that October figures, due to be released on 16 November, could show an increase to between 3.3% and 3.4%.

And this jump, from 3.1% in September, means that all the signs are that the UK will see consumer prices index (CPI) inflation hit 4% in early 2011.
