US economic outlook improving despite QE2

Simon Ward, chief economist at Henderson Global Investors has described the US decision to implement a second round of quantitative easing as "at best, unnecessary".

As US monetary trends continue to strengthen, supporting hopes of faster economic growth in the first half of 2011, Ward says it is evident that the Federal Reserve's decision to implement a second round of QE was unnecessary.
