The research by Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks showed that 34% of five to 12-year-olds think doctors and nurses should be paid more than footballers. Almost a quarter (23%) of kids believe that soldiers should earn the most.
The results also show a gender divide; 37% of girls voted in favour of doctors and nurses earning more, compared to 28% of boys. Instead more young boys (30%) than girls (19%) think soldiers should earn more.
Surprisingly, just 2% think that footballers should take home the biggest pay packets. A mere 1% of respondents thought popstars should be paid the most. And just 7% of girls and only 3% of boys think that parents do a job that deserves to be paid the most.
