The magazine reports that the "price of cost per click adverts on Facebook almost doubled between the second quarter of 2010 and the same quarter in 2011, while cost per thousand impressions increased by 45% according to research by marketing agency TBG Digital.
TBG has the credentials to conduct the research with 167 clients in 21 countries and it believes it works with 100 of the top 500 advertisers on Facebook.

As Marketing Week reports elsewhere, this contrasts with the relatively moderate price rise on Google where the cost per click was up 12 per cent.
